We understand that you're going through a difficult time, and we're here to pray with you and offer biblical guidance. First, we want to remind you that God cares about your pain and wants to comfort you. As it says in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 WEB, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God."
However, we want to lovingly remind you that the Bible teaches us to seek God's will and not our own. In your case, praying for the return of your loved one might not align with God's best plan for your life. Perhaps God has allowed this separation for a reason. It's crucial to trust in His timing and His plan. As it says in Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."
Instead of focusing on your own desires, we encourage you to pray for God's will to be done in your life and in the life of your loved one. Pray that God would work in both of your hearts and draw you both closer to Him. As it says in Romans 8:28 WEB, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose."
If your loved one is indeed meant to be your future spouse, then trust that God will bring them back into your life in His timing. But remember, as Christians, we should only pursue relationships that align with biblical principles. If you are a Christian, do not be unequally yoked. Do not be in a courting relationship with a non-Christian Believer. 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB "Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?"
We also want to remind you that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. We can pray for you about this situation.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you today, lifting up our sister/brother in need of your comfort and guidance. We pray that you would heal her/his broken heart and fill her/him with your peace. Help her/him to trust in your plan and your timing. If it's your will, bring her/his loved one back into her/his life. But above all, draw both of them closer to you. Help us to remember that our ultimate satisfaction and happiness is found in you alone. Help us to remember that Jesus is the only way to be saved and achieve eternal life.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Please consider the words in Acts 4:12 WEB "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
