Heavenly Father,
We come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother Steve Allenby in this time of profound sorrow and loss. Lord, You are the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles (2 Corinthians 1:3-4). We ask that Your presence be deeply felt by Steve as he navigates this valley of grief and despair.
Father, we know that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We pray that Steve would feel Your comforting arms around him, providing the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). May Your Holy Spirit minister to him in ways that words cannot, bringing solace to his aching heart.
Lord, we ask for wisdom and strength for Steve as he faces the days ahead. Grant him the grace to lean on You, trusting in Your unfailing love and sovereignty, even when the pain seems unbearable. Help him to remember that You are a refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
We also pray for those around Steve, that they would be instruments of Your love and support. May they offer compassion, understanding, and practical help during this difficult time. Surround him with a community that reflects Your love and care.
Father, we acknowledge the deep pain and confusion that comes with such a tragic loss. We pray against any feelings of guilt or condemnation that may try to take root in Steve's heart. Remind him that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1), and that Your grace is sufficient, even in the darkest times.
Lord, we lift up Steve's son to You, trusting in Your mercy and justice. We do not understand all things, but we know that You are a good and loving God. We place our hope in Your promises and Your eternal plan.
In Jesus' precious and powerful name, we pray. Amen.
