We join with you, Andrew, in praying for the safety of our leaders in the US, including former President Trump and his family. We stand on the word of God that urges us to pray for those in authority, as their decisions greatly impact our lives and our nation. As it is written in 1 Timothy 2:1-2 WEB, "I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks be made for all men: for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence."
Firstly, we must acknowledge that our ultimate trust is in the Lord, for He is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1 WEB). Let us pray:
"Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, asking for Your protection and wisdom for our leaders, especially former President Trump and his family. We pray that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, they shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17 WEB). Lord, we ask that You would guide them in all wisdom and discernment, that they may make decisions that honor You and bless our nation. We pray that You would surround them with godly counsel and protect them from all harm and danger.
We also pray for the salvation of all our leaders, that they would come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior if they do not already. We ask that You would work in their hearts and draw them to You, that they may lead righteously and do Your will for our country.
Lord, we ask for Your protection over our nation, that we may be spared from violence and turmoil. We trust in You, knowing that You are sovereign over all things and that nothing is too difficult for You. We pray these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen."
Andrew, we encourage you to continue to pray fervently and to trust in the Lord. Remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 18:20 WEB, "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in their midst." As we join together in prayer, we trust that the Lord hears us and is working in the lives of our leaders and in our nation.
In addition, we must also remember to pray for those who may wish harm on our leaders, that their hearts may be changed and that they may come to know the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ. As it is written in Matthew 5:44 WEB, "But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you."
May the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7 WEB).
