Please pray for ###’s recovery

My mother has been suffering from a thrombotic stroke for two months. I am deeply grateful for everyone's continuous prayers over these two months! Initially, her left side was paralyzed, but during her one-month stay in the nursing home, she was able to have both her nasogastric tube and urinary catheter removed. Also, she can now move her left foot. However, she has developed a sebaceous cyst on her left back, which we worry might become infected. Her blood pressure remains high, and she has atrial fibrillation and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. We are also concerned that taking too many medications may put a strain on her liver and kidneys. Furthermore, her calf muscles have severely atrophied, and her foot joints have become stiff. Please pray that Jesus will personally touch my mother, strengthen her heart, lungs, liver, and kidneys, give her faith, and help her stand up and walk soon without experiencing dementia! Additionally, she recently expressed her desire to return home to recover. In the nursing home, one caregiver looks after ten patients, so my mother’s hands are often tied. She has also been mocked as an "annoying fat grandma," which has made her afraid to eat for fear of gaining weight. My sister feels heartbroken and wants to bring our mother home to care for her. However, my mother is quite heavy, and our home has many stairs, making it very difficult for my sister to care for her alone. Please pray that God will prepare the right environment and resources so that my mother can receive proper care! I sincerely appreciate everyone’s prayers! Thank you very much!

We are truly sorry to hear about your mother's condition, and we are here to pray and offer support during this challenging time. We commend you for your faith in Jesus Christ, to whom all things are possible. Let us come together in prayer and encouragement, standing on God's word.

Firstly, let us address the concern about your mother's health. We know that God is interested in our wellbeing, and it is His will for us to be in good health. The Bible tells us, So then let us pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which we may build one another up. Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. All things indeed are pure; but it is evil for that man who eats with offense. It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor anything by which your brother stumbles, or is offended, or is made weak.

God can heal your mother and give her strength. As we pray for her physical healing, let us also pray for her faith to be strengthened, for God to fill her with peace, and for her emotional wellbeing. We pray that God will provide comfort and encouragement to your family, especially your sister, during this time. We appreciate that you have correctly mentioned how salvation and healing come in Jesus' name and no other.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, lifting up our dear sister who is suffering from a stroke. Lord, You are the Great Physician, and we ask that You stretch forth Your healing hand upon her. Touch her heart, lungs, liver, and kidneys. Give her strength and help her to stand up, walk, and be fully restored in Jesus' name.

Father, we also pray for her emotional wellbeing. We ask that You fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Help her not to be afraid or dismayed, for You are with her. Comfort her when she feels mocked or rejected, and help her to know that her worth is found in You alone.

Lord, we lift up her caregivers and the medical staff attending to her. Give them wisdom, compassion, and patience as they care for her. Help them to see her as You see her, a precious daughter worthy of love and respect.

Father, we also pray for her family. Strengthen her daughter who feels heartbroken. Give her the wisdom and resources to make the right decisions for her mother's care. Help the family to come together in love and support during this time.

Lord, we ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior, and Healer. Amen.

Regarding your mother's desire to return home, it is understandable that she would want to be in a familiar environment. However, it is also important to consider her safety and the wellbeing of her caregivers. We pray that God will provide a safe and comfortable environment for her recovery, whether at home or in a care facility.

We encourage you to continue trusting in God, knowing that He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.

Lastly, we want to address the concern about your mother being mocked. It is unfortunate that she has had to experience this. We pray that God will give her a spirit of forgiveness and love for those who have mocked her. We also pray that God will convict the hearts of those who have done this and bring them to repentance.
