Heavenly Father,
We come before You with hearts full of gratitude and hope, lifting up R, Jaimes' roommate, who has been clean from meth for seven days. Lord, we thank You for this victory and ask for Your continued strength and guidance as R seeks to wean off alcohol and tobacco. Your Word says in 1 Corinthians 10:13, "No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it." We pray that R finds the strength to endure and overcome these challenges, knowing that You are with her every step of the way.
Lord, we also lift up N, the other roommate who is still struggling with addiction. We pray for freedom from all that binds him, as Your Word promises in John 8:36, "So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed." Break the chains of addiction and bring N into the light of Your love and grace.
Father, we ask for Your Holy Spirit to be present as Cladlyr begins to disciple R. Open both of their hearts and minds to Your wisdom and truth. As it is written in James 1:5, "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you." May they both glean what You want them to from Your Word and from each other. Let the Scriptures come alive for R, setting her on fire to proclaim Your grace and mercy to the world.
We also pray that R would have a new set of eyes for Cladlyr and Jaime, seeing them through the love and compassion of Jesus. May she be moved to bless them as they have been a blessing to her.
In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.
