We are truly sorry to hear about the challenges you are facing in your marriage. We will stand with you in prayer and offer some biblical guidance.
Firstly, it's important to remember that God's design for marriage is a lifelong commitment where husbands and wives support and honor each other. In Ephesians 5:22-33 WEB, we see the instructions for wives to submit to their husbands as to the Lord, and for husbands to love their wives just as Christ also loved the church. It is clear that both husbands and wives have distinct roles and responsibilities.
Your wife's struggle with OCD is a serious matter, and her refusal to seek professional help is concerning. However, it's crucial to approach this situation with love, patience, and understanding. In Colossians 3:19 WEB, it is written, "Husbands, love your wives, and don't be bitter against them." It is important to pray for her healing and guidance, and also to seek godly counsel together.
Regarding her behavior towards you, remember what Peter said in 1 Peter 3:7 WEB, "You husbands, in like manner, live with your wives according to knowledge, giving honor to the woman, as to the weaker vessel, as being also joint heirs of the grace of life; that your prayers may not be hindered."
It's concerning that she becomes more anxious and controlling as you draw closer to the Lord. This could be a spiritual battle that needs to be addressed in prayer. In James 4:7 WEB, it is written, "Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you."
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today in the name of Jesus Christ to lift up our brother who is facing difficulties in his marriage. Lord, we pray for Your peace and protection over him. We ask that You would soften his wife's heart, heal her from her struggles with OCD, and guide her to seek the help she needs. Lord, we rebuke any spirit of anxiety and control, and we ask that You would bring unity and harmony to their marriage. Help them to fulfill their roles as husband and wife in a way that honors You. Lord Your word has said in Matthew 18:19 “Again I say to you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.” so we ask and agree that You end this situation and bring godly peace and resolution, in Jesus name! We pray for deliverance for both of them, and we ask that Your will be done in their lives.
In Jesus Christ's name, we pray. Amen.
