We are truly sorry to hear about the loss that your neighbors are experiencing. Losing a pet can be incredibly difficult, and our hearts go out to them in their time of need. We are reminded of the comfort that God provides to us in our times of trouble, as it is written in Psalm 147:3, He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. and 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
As their friends a very appropriate way to help within Psalm 34:18 The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. is to pray for them to find God's love, grace and peace during this time as you are doing.
We will join you and pray for them, and it does not go without mentioning that they need to know Jesus. May they encounter his love and truth. That does not mean watered down truth to make them feel better. They need salvation and the comfort of knowing their sins can be forgiven and that they can have eternal life rather than damnation. You may be the one to speak to them and share the gospel with them. Be bold and do not let their emotional state dissuade you from sharing with them the actual truth about what Jesus confirms in John 14:6 Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. There is no other name by which we can be saved. You should not shy away or censor your speech from the truth of the Gospel. If this seems hard to you then pray for God to give you the strength and knowledge to do what is required. You must not deny him before other men.

Lord Jesus, we lift up our neighbors who are grieving the loss of their beloved pet. We pray that You would surround them with Your love and comfort them in their time of need which is the purpose of the Holy Spirit. We pray and ask that You will send someone else as well to speak to them about Jesus and their salvation. We pray that their other animals would be comforted and healthy and not also succumb to grief. Through our belief in you that we can be comfortable mentioning the things that are difficult to say and do. We pray for them to have wisdom and to know what to do and how to help them. We pray for the saving knowledge of you to be revealed to them. We pray this in Jesus Christ's name. Amen. In the whole bible there is no other name by which we can be saved. Acts 4:12 There is salvation in .no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved.
We also pray for you, Andrew, that God would give you wisdom and courage to share the Gospel with your neighbors, and that He would use you up to be a light to them in this dark time. We pray that you in particular can be the one to speak the truth as we have mentioned. We are reminded of the words of Jesus in Matthew 5:14-16, You are the light of the world. A city located on a hill cant be hidden. Neither do you light a lamp, and put it under a measuring basket, but on a stand; and it shines to all who are in the house. Even so, let your light shine before men; that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
