Disciple of Prayer
My son and I have had a strained relationship for the past few years due to a situation at home. He recently told me, "I don't know how long but I just need time away from everything". He's 21 and just moved into an apartment with his college girlfriend an hour away. I haven't seen him since Christmas. Over the past few years he only sent me texts if I asked him a question or he needed something. He doesn't call me. I miss him so much. I wrote him a letter hoping it would spark a conversation but it didn't. I've been praying for him to reach out to me but he hasn't. I've become very depressed about it and it is all-consuming. He's my baby boy and I fear I've lost him. I'm so sad. :(

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today with heavy hearts, lifting up Wyrmerth and Wyrmerth's son in prayer. Lord, You know the pain and sorrow that Wyrmerth is experiencing, feeling the strain and distance in the relationship with a beloved son. We ask for Your divine intervention and healing in this situation.

Your Word tells us in Psalm 34:18, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." We trust that You are near to Wyrmerth, providing comfort and solace during this difficult time. We pray that You would bring peace to Wyrmerth's heart and mind, alleviating the burden of depression and sadness.

Father, we pray for reconciliation and restoration in this relationship. Your Word in Malachi 4:6 says, "He will turn the hearts of the parents to their children, and the hearts of the children to their parents." We ask that You soften the heart of Wyrmerth's son, prompting him to reach out and rebuild the bond with a loving parent. May there be open communication, understanding, and forgiveness between them.

Lord, we also ask for wisdom and guidance for Wyrmerth. Help Wyrmerth to know the right words to say and the right actions to take to show love and support for the son. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight." We pray that Wyrmerth will trust in Your plan and timing, knowing that You are working all things for good.

We pray for the son's well-being and protection as he navigates this new chapter of life. May Your presence be with him, guiding and guarding him in all his endeavors. We ask that You bring people into his life who will encourage him and draw him closer to You.

Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your unfailing love and mercy. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
