Cewthyr, Let's begin by acknowledging our Heavenly Father and coming before Him with humble hearts in the beautiful holy and precious name of Jesus his only begotten Son. We can pray and ask normally, but God pours out his Holy Spirit, gives us any blessing, or even listens to us because of Jesus Christ. So we pray this in Jesus Precious name, in the Name above all Names. Our prayer is for your son ###, and we stand in the gap for him, seeking God's will and mercy in his situation.
Firstly, we pray that ### may know that God loves him and seek God's will in his life. We pray and hope ### believes in Jesus Christ as his only Lord and Savior. We must affirm Jesus opinion of himself as the Son of the Living God by confessing with our own mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that He rose from dead for the forgivness of sins. As he perhaps is facing a challening time in his life, now would be an excellent time to take stock, confess Jesus as Lord before men and in his heart, and to receive the Holy Spirit to Help with everything, including this legal situation. God promises us, Whoever therefore will confess me before men, him will I also confess before the Father who is in heaven. But whoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father who is in heaven. So we pray and then discuss with ### the decision. We must emphasize, Now is the acceptable time to give His his heart and soul and submit to Him. This is the day of salvation to give His heart over to Jesus now!
We pray that if it is God's will, the charges against ### will be dropped because we ask this in Jesus Name. Let's remember and say out loud the words of Jesus in John 14.14 WEB If you ask anything in my name, I will do it, God will hear because of Jesus name. Jesus said If we ask and he answers in a way that we think He did not hear then He still heard our request. Let's make sure to affirm our thoughts and ###'s with the word of God.
But your son's legal situation is not the only important thing to keep in mind. Use this as a time to learn about God and let the Holy Spirit lead. He is a merciful God, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness. Let's encourage everyone to keep the faith and believe and declare this in prayer in verses like Psalm 117 WEB Praise Yahweh, all you nations! Extol him, all you peoples! For his loving kindness is great toward us. Yahweh’s faithfulness endures forever. Praise Yah!
We also pray for the judge and the court proceedings, that God may grant them wisdom and discernment (WEB James 1.5). We will pray that they would be able to learn and apply scripture and the law of our land equally and fairly. They might unfortunately not be Christian so there is a saying at least in the United States, a man is innocent until proven guilty by a jury of his peers. We have to remember this so we as community do not presume innocence or guilt because we simply do not know enough facts about the case or even legal rule. Let's being about in our prayers Yahweh’s faithfulness endures forever. Praises Yah! Even with the legal system, the Holy Spirit is here to help and intervene. Again remember in Jesus Name we pray.
God calls us to be subject to the governing authorities (Romans 13:1 WEB), so we pray that ### remains respectful and cooperative throughout the legal process. This is an extremely important concept to grasp since unjustified rebellion and vengence is not of God.
We will rebuke any bitterness or desire for vengeance, remembering that vengeance belongs to God alone (Romans 12:19 WEB). This is a hard principle but knowing we can take to God in prayer we can focus on love and forgiveness and not sin through hate, betterness, and strife. Let's make sure we are all involved that are involved in this in prayer.
We pray this and affirm, Let's end the prayer, Father, it is in the precious name and by faith in Your Son that we pray to You. In that we have access, we ask that You pour out the Holy Spirit upon ### and his family to heal, deliver, and redeem all parties directly and indirectly involved with this legal issue.
