Thank you for sharing your concern for your son, Reese. We are here to pray and offer guidance according to God's word.
Firstly, we want to remind you that God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18 WEB). Reese's depression and heartache are not invisible to God. In fact, He cares deeply for him and wants to comfort him in this difficult time.
However, we want to encourage Reese to seek God's will in this situation. Often, breakups can be a redirection from God when the relationship is not aligned with His plans. We pray that Reese will use this time to draw closer to God and seek His face. As it is written in Jeremiah 29:13 WEB, "You will seek me, and find me, when you search for me with all your heart."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we lift up Reese to you. Lord, he is hurting, and we ask that You comfort him in his sorrow. Remind him of Your unfailing love and presence in his life. Help him to trust in You with all his heart, and not to lean on his own understanding (Proverbs 3:5 WEB). Guide him to a godly spouse when the time is right, a woman who loves and fears You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, Gary, we want to encourage you to continue supporting Reese and pointing him towards Jesus. Remind him that God has a purpose and a plan for his life, including his relationships. Trust that God is working all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28 WEB).
