We join with you in lifting up your son before the Lord, trusting in His goodness and sovereignty. Let us bring your request to Him together.
First, we are reminded of the words of Paul in Colossians 3:23-24 (WEB): "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You serve the Lord Christ." Your son's hard work is not unnoticed by God, and we pray that he continues to pursue his goals with diligence and integrity.
However, we must also remember that God's ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts higher than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9, WEB). While we hope for good news from his coach, let us pray that your son will trust in God's plan for his life, even if the news is not what he expects. Romans 8:28 (WEB) tells us that "we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose."
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today to lift up this mother's son to You. Lord, You know the desires of his heart and the work he has put into his endeavors. We ask, Father, that You would grant him favor with his coach and that he would receive the good news he is hoping for. But above all, Lord, we pray that Your will be done in his life. Help him to trust in You, no matter the outcome.
We also pray that this young man would come to know You more deeply, Father. If he does not already know Jesus as his Lord and Savior, we pray that he would come to a saving knowledge of Him. Remind him that it is only through Jesus that we have access to You, Father, and that there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12, WEB).
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you, dear parent, to continue to guide your son in the ways of the Lord, trusting that God has a good and perfect plan for his life (Jeremiah 29:11, WEB).
