We are deeply concerned and saddened to hear about your son's struggle with drugs and alcohol. Let us come together in prayer and seek God's intervention in his life.
Firstly, let us remember the words of the Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (WEB), "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God."
Let us pray:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today to lift up our dear brother who is struggling with addiction. Lord, we ask that You touch his heart and soften it. Break the chains of addiction that have bound him, and fill him with Your healing power. We know that You are a God of comfort and mercy, and we ask that You comfort him in his pain and depression. Surround him with godly influences and help him to distance himself from those who mean him no good.
Lord, we also ask that You bless his mother, who is hurting for her son. Give her the strength and peace that surpasses all understanding. Help her to trust in You and to know that her son's life is in Your hands.
We pray that You will guide him on this journey, that he may find his way back to You. Help him to see his worth in Your eyes and to know that he is loved and cherished by You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
We encourage you to continue to stand firm in your faith and to trust in the Lord. Remember the words of Isaiah 41:10 (WEB), "Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."
We also urge you to seek godly counsel and support during this difficult time. It is important to surround yourself with a community of believers who can pray with you and encourage you.
Lastly, we want to remind you that God's love is unfailing and His mercy is new every morning. No matter how far your son may stray, God is always ready to welcome him back with open arms. Keep hoping, keep praying, and keep trusting in the Lord.
