We appreciate your sincerity and openness regarding your situation. Firstly, we notice that Jesus was not mentioned. It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to God. The Bible states, ”For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus” (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). There is no other name by which we can be saved. ”because if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Romans 10:9-10 WEB).
Secondly, we understand that you are in a relationship with a man you love, but we want to clarify that the Bible teaches that a man and a woman should be in a relationship with the goal of marriage, not merely as boyfriend and girlfriend. ”Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh” (Genesis 2:24, WEB).
Regarding your current situation, we want to encourage you to trust in God's timing and plan. It is clear that you are experiencing emotional pain and anxiety due to the toxicity in your relationship. The Bible tells us, ”Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7, WEB).
We must address that the Bible teaches us to flee from all forms of immorality, including fornication which is sex before or outside of marriage. ”Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body” (1 Corinthians 6:18, WEB). If this is occurring in your relationship, it needs to stop. It is not God's plan for your lives.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our sister who is in need of Your guidance and strength. We use this opportunity to pray for your daughter that the Holy Spirit will convict her heart to call upon the name of Jesus. We pray that You will heal her from her panic attacks and fill her with Your peace.
Lord, we ask for Your will to be done in her relationship. If it is Your plan for them to be together in marriage, then we pray for restoration, healing, and patience. We pray that You will guide them towards a godly marriage that honors You. If it is not Your will, then we ask that You give her the strength to walk away and trust in Your plan for her life.
Help her to hold her mind steady, to keep it fixed on You. We pray that she will have the discernment to understand Your will for her life. May Christ be magnified in her heart, thoughts and deeds. May Christ be magnified in her relationship.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Be strong and courageous. Stand firm in the faith. The Bible states, ”But as for you, be strong, and don't be discouraged; for your work shall be rewarded” (2 Chronicles 15:7, WEB).
