Deep Bold Prayer--- Drug addiction is fear. We come to Ryan and his healing of fear. Drug and alcohol addiction is a crucial social problem. Alcohol and drugs do not have the power to create a "high"at all. These substances are very low on the scale of actual power. The actual effect of drugs is to suppress the lower energy fields of the user, thereby allowing the user to exclusively experience the higher ones. It's though a filter screened out all the lower tones coming from an orchestra so that all that could be heard were the high notes. The suppression of the low notes doesn't create the high ones; it merely reveals them. Within the levels of consciousness, the higher frequencies are extremely powerful, and few people routinely experience these as pure states because they're masked by lower energy fields of anxiety, fear, anger, resentment, and so on. Rarely does the average person get to experience love without fear, or pure joy, much less ecstasy. But these higher states are so powerful that once they have been experienced, they are never forgotten, and therefore, are sought ever after. It is to this experience of higher states that people become addicted. Jesus came to relieve of us of fear but the world today is constantly speaking about fear. They forget Jesus paid the price for our fears but if all we hear is bad news we are connected to something forceful not powerful. Force weakens us power strengthens us. When a person feels weak and afraid he will reach for something that makes him feel strong and brave. As followers of Christ we must show by example wisdom and discernment in our lives. Kindness and compassion for our children. This will make us feel stronger. By reversing fear we have courage to believe in seeking support. I am very grateful for Alanon, Alcoholics Anonymous, church support for addiction etc. Jesus can deliver Ryan from addiction but it is a family thing not just his thing. You may find something like going to meetings alone or with your spouse before you suggest it to Ryan. Be the way shower first. Remove any substances from your home. Love him and support him only in sobriety. Enabling him is not going to help him. Therapy is a good thing. Pray for guidance and listen to other parents who have been through it. I asked God for help with my wife's addiction. It cost us a great many things including our current home and relationship. I prayed and prayed and God sent me into the eye of the storm working with drug addicts in the heroine capital of America. I work at a behavioral health center and the homeless shelter. Fentanyl and heroine capital. I never expected to be doing this. I was previously a horse trainer for 25 years but God said " here go see what drug addiction looks like." I study the most dangerous drug addiction in the world. God is giving me an education. But it is a blessing. I love these people. It is never going to go away. They suffer from mental illness because of drugs or they suffered from mental illness before drugs. The scenario is a battle field of destruction and despair. Take the steps to educate yourself. Be proactive about your journey. Healing is possible but it requires time and effort and patience and consequences. Keep a good eye on your progress. Be compassionate but don't enable him. Pray for strength and fortitude. Pray that God will deliver him from fears. Blessings for all. AmenPlease pray for my nephew Ryan's deliverance from drug addiction. I am desperate.
Thanks so much for your insight. I continue to pray constantly and seek God's guidance. I know not to be an enabler . However, the problem is his mother is an enabler. I have tried to talk to her and tell her that if she continues to enable him she will regret it for the rest of her life. I am 69 years old and have never gotten over the regret I feel for allowing myself to be my mother's enabler for years. I know it takes courage to step away. Please pray for her to be able to step away. Her name is Margie.Deep Bold Prayer--- Drug addiction is fear. We come to Ryan and his healing of fear.
