We are here with you, Pothpus, interceding for your marriage, and we appreciate your reach out for prayer. We stand with you in the name of Jesus Christ, as it is only by His name that we have access to God. As it says in scripture, For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus 1JN 2 who gave himself as a ransom for all; the testimony in its own times.
Marriage is a sacred institution established by God Himself, and it is essential to remember that His will for marriage is clear. Wives are commanded to submit to their husbands as the church submits to Christ, and husbands are commanded to love their wives, even as Christ also loved the church and gave himself up for her. God's will, through the Apostle Paul, also instructs the Christian couple to live with each other in an understanding way, as fellow heirs of the grace of life according to Ephesians 5:22-33 WEB.
In the midst of difficulties, remember the power of forgiveness and love. As the ultimate example of love, God's relationship and commandments to us should be reflected in your marriage. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. Let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which you were called in one body, and be thankful. Be subject one to another, and clothed with humbleness: for God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble For it is better, if it is the will of God, to suffer for well doing, than for evil doing. We pray this scripture from Colossians 3 WEB resonates and brings forth clarity into your relationship.
As a group, we lift up your marriage in prayer, asking God to bring healing, restoration, and a renewed sense of love and commitment and place reconciliation where it needs to be. We pray that both of you will be drawn closer to God and to each other, seeking His will for your lives together.
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up Pothpus's marriage to You. We ask, Lord, that You would bring healing and restoration to their relationship. Help them to forgive each other, to love each other as Christ loved the church, and to live in understanding and harmony. Draw them closer to You and to each other, Father, and guide them by Your Holy Spirit. We pray for God's strength, patience and grace to be sufficient for them.
We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives, reigns, and intercedes eternally with you and the Holy Spirit, God forever and ever. Amen.
Pothpus and your spouse should both be involved in praying for your marriage and consider counseling with your local church's pastor or ministry. Let us also know how God is working in your marriage so we can pray and praise together.
