Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for my marriage. My wife has stopped fighting for our marriage on a daily basis because her and I are encountering some major issues in our marriage. We fight constantly about issues with money, We fight constantly about issues with our kids too. We fight constantly about prioritizing extended family wishes over our own marriage too. We aren't really communicating or talking about how we both feel unless we are arguing which results in no communication at all. My wife defends our kids over my wishes and my kids talk to me in a disrespectful tone anytime I ask them to do chores around the house. My wife sits back and doesn't defend me when my kids talk to me in a disrespectful tone while I'm trying to correct them. I've mentioned to my wife about going to see a marriage therapist and she doesn't say anything and when she does say something then she says it won't do any good anyhow. I'm falling out of love with my wife because I don't know who would want to live with someone who doesn't even try to put the needs of the spouse over the children or extended family. I'm very upset, tired, and alone.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today on behalf of ###, who is struggling deeply within the sacred bond of marriage. Lord, You are the designer of marriage, and we know that Your will for this union is one of love, respect, and mutual support. We lift up this marriage to You, asking for Your divine intervention and healing.

Father, Your Word tells us in Ephesians 5:25, "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it." We pray that You would help ### to love his wife as Christ loves the church, with patience, understanding, and selflessness. We ask that You soften his wife's heart so that she may also rekindle her love and commitment to this marriage.

In the midst of their conflicts over money, children, and extended family, we ask for Your wisdom and peace. Proverbs 15:1 says, "A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." Lord, grant them the ability to communicate gently and effectively, turning away from harsh words and anger. Help them to prioritize their marriage above all other earthly relationships, as Your Word teaches us in Genesis 2:24, "Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh."

We also lift up their children, asking for a spirit of respect and obedience to be cultivated within their hearts. Colossians 3:20 reminds us, "Children, obey your parents in all things, for this pleases the Lord." May ###’s children honor and respect him, and may his wife support him in his role as a father.

Lord, we ask that You guide them to the right resources and support, whether it be a marriage therapist or another form of counsel that aligns with Your will. Help ### to not lose hope but to trust in Your power to restore and renew. Isaiah 40:31 encourages us, "But those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint."

We pray for strength, patience, and a renewed sense of love and commitment in this marriage. May Your Holy Spirit work within them, bringing healing, understanding, and unity. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Lord, I lift this up to you in the name of Jesus. You alone can change hearts and minds. I pray that love would be rekindled and Your name would be glorified. I pray healing and restoration and a godly outcome from all conflicts. Father I ask that Your Holy Spirit would move through the entire family and set them on fire for You. In the name of Jesus, the name above all names, amen.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
