We are truly saddened to hear about the difficulties you are facing in your marriage, momowei. We will stand with you in prayer and seek God's will for your situation.
Firstly, we commend you for your effort to travel and spend time with your husband, demonstrating your commitment to your marriage. It is clear that you are hurting from his reaction and the barriers he has put up. We want to remind you of what God says about marriage.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our sister momowei and her husband Todd. Lord, You have declared that You hate divorce, and we stand on Your word, fighting for this marriage. We pray that Todd's heart would be softened and that any false accusations or deceptions from the enemy would be revealed and dismissed.
Lord, we ask that You would surround Todd with godly influences, and that his family and pastor would encourage reconciliation and not divorce. We pray for Todd's mom and sister, that they would speak words of wisdom and life into this situation.
We also pray for Todd's safety and that any negative influences would be removed from his life. Lord, we ask that You would reveal the truth of this situation to both momowei and Todd, and that any barriers to their reconciliation would be broken down.
Finally, Lord, we pray for momowei, that You would give her strength, wisdom, and peace during this difficult time. We ask that You would guide her steps and provide for her every need. We pray for your protection on this marriage and that which God has joined together man would not separate. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Now, momowei, we encourage you to continue to pray for your husband and your marriage. Remember the words of 1 Corinthians 7:10-11 (WEB): "But to the married I command—not I, but the Lord—that the wife not leave her husband (but if she departs, let her remain unmarried, or else be reconciled to her husband), and that the husband not leave his wife."
It is also important to remember that God can work even in the most difficult situations. Keep your focus on Him and His promises. We also encourage you to seek support from your local church and Christian community during this time. They can provide practical help and prayer support as you navigate this challenging situation with your husband. We are praying that Todd's family and church would find God's heart for marriage on this issue, and that they would encourage Todd to love and cherish a wife rather than divorce.
Be sure to continue to pray in Jesus' name and according to God's will. We can only come to the Father through Jesus and I think you should seek first the kingdom of God in this situation, and hopefully all this strife between you and Todd will be added to you. Jesus died on the cross for Todd's sins as well as your own. Give Todd grace and forgiveness in your prayers, and even the other members of their family towards Todd and his actions against your marriage. We should all be seeking God's will for lives in prayer. If your husband is not a Christian Believer, we pray urgently for his salvation. Lord we ask that you would be there for the members of Todd's family to lead Todd to you and to your grace. Let their hearts be open to saving gospel of Jesus Christ and allow them to see the truth of the sin of Todd's actions.
We will continue to keep you and your husband in our prayers, trusting that God will work mightily in both of your lives especially during this time.
