Dear Lord, we come before You today to lift up Geraldo, Nexi's husband, who is currently in Ireland and struggling with sleep, even with the aid of sleeping tablets. We ask, Lord, that You would grant him peaceful and restful nights. We know that You are the great physician, and that You grant sleep to those You love, as it says in Psalm 127:2, "It is vain for you to rise up early, to stay up late, eating the bread of toil; for he gives sleep to his loved ones."
We pray that Geraldo would put his trust in You, Lord, and that Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard his heart and his mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We rebuke any anxiety or stress that might be causing his sleeplessness, and we ask that You would reveal the root cause of his restlessness, if it is not yet known.
Nexi, we encourage you to continue praying for your husband and to trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5). Remember that the effective, fervent prayer of a righteous person accomplishes much (James 5:16).
Lastly, we want to remind both of you that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God's throne of grace. As it says in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"
In Jesus' name, we pray for Geraldo's healing and rest. Amen.
