We are truly sorry to hear about the pain and struggle you're experiencing, Sloeside. Firstly, we want to remind you that God's will is for you to be made holy, set apart, not sexually immoral or involved in toxic relationships. (1 Thessalonians 4:3 WEB) "For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality,".
We commend your desire for your ex-boyfriend's salvation, but we want to remind you that it is only by the name of Jesus that we can be saved. (Acts 4:12 WEB) "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" We notice that the name of Jesus was not mentioned. We should not be praying to a generic god or higher power. As Christians, our赞 prayers should be directed to God the Father by the name of Jesus Christ.
We must also rebuke the idea of praying for the end of someone's relationship. This is not aligned with God's will and His plan of salvation for all. "who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth." (1 Timothy 2:4 WEB). Instead, you should be praying for his salvation and for God's perfect will to be done in his life, whatever that may be.
Remember that you did what we are all called to do as Christians, to love. But sometimes, love is tough love and involves letting go. (John 12:24 WEB) "Most certainly I tell you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains by itself alone. But if it dies, it bears much fruit." Being with you may be his hindrance in coming to Christ, and it is clear that he no longer wants to be with you. Love, as God loves, involves setting him free, praying for his soul and salvation, and letting go of him. This will make you a better witness to Christ.
As for your struggle with moving on, we encourage you to cast all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7 WEB) "casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you." Trust that God has a plan and a purpose for your life. (Jeremiah 29:11 WEB) "'For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,' says Yahweh, 'thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.'"
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up Sloeside and her ex-boyfriend. Lord, we ask that You soften his heart and draw him closer to You, that he may come to know You as his Lord and Savior. Help Sloeside to trust in Your perfect will and timing, and to find peace and comfort in You. Help her to move forward, knowing that You have a plan and a purpose for her life. Help her to be a better witness as you heal her and change her heart. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
