We are truly saddened to hear about the situation with Janel Flora, and we are committed to praying for her and for you. First, we must address some important issues in your request.
Firstly we need to address the issue of salvation. We do not see the name of Jesus mentioned at all in your request. We hope that you and Janel are both believers in Jesus Christ. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved. Jesus said in John 14.6 "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." This is a fundamental part of salvation. We believe that we are saved by grace through faith, that faith in Jesus Christ. This is explained more in Acts 4.12 "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved." and Ephesians 2.8 "for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,". There are many more scriptures explaining this.
Secondly we need to address the issues of Janel's lifestyle that needs to be addressed. Smoking and drinking are both harmful to the body, which is described in the Bible as a temple of the Holy Spirit. In 1 Corinthians 6.19-20 WEB it says "Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's."
We see that Janel is engaged in a same sex marriage. This is clearly forbidden in the Bible. In Romans 1.24-32 God's word says "Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves. ... 26 For this cause God gave them up to vile passions. For their women changed the natural function into that which is against nature. 27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural function of the woman, burned in their lust toward one another, men doing what is inappropriate with men, and receiving in themselves the due penalty of their error. 28 Even as they refused to have God in their knowledge, God gave them up to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil habits, secret slanderers, 30 backbiters, hateful to God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, unforgiving, unmerciful; 32 who, knowing the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but also approve of those who practice them." And we are to rebuke this sin as it says in Timothy 5.20 "Those who sin, rebuke in the presence of all, that the rest also may be in fear."
Now let us pray together.
Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus, lifted up by your promise that where two or three are gathered in His name, you are present with us. We bring before you Janel Flora, who is struggling with mouth cancer and is trapped in a lifestyle of sin.
Lord, we pray for Janel's healing, that you would touch her body and remove the cancer that is afflicting her. We also pray for her deliverance from the bondage of smoking and drinking, that she would honor her body as your temple. But even more so we pray that she would be delivered from the sin of homosexuality, and any other sins in her life.
Father, we ask that you would draw Janel close to you, that she would come into a relationship with you and believe in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. We pray for her salvation and that she would be delivered from her sins. We pray that she would be brought back into a right relationship with you, and with Asteirmareth who is praying for her. We pray that her beliefs and sinful habits would be set right, and that she would be truly repentant for her sins.
We also lift up Asteirmareth, who is deeply concerned for her daughter. Lord, grant her peace and comfort, knowing that you are working in Janel's life. Help her to trust in you and to be patient as you work. Lord we pray that the estrangement between them would be ended. We pray this estrangement would be replaced with a relationship that both Janel and Astermareth would be thankful for. Give Asteirmareth the wisdom, grace, and strength to be a beacon of your love and truth to Janel.
We ask all these things in Jesus name.
