Let's come before the Lord to pray for you and your boyfriend in this challenging situation. It is important to remind ourselves of a critical fact. God's blessings are connected to obedience and following Him in Jesus name.
God said, But if you will not obey the voice of Yahweh your God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command you today, then all these curses will come on you and overtake you. Cursed will you be in the city, and cursed will you be in the field. Deuteronomy 28:15, WEB.
The first and foremost commandment of God is to have no other gods before God.
You shall have no other gods before me. Deuteronomy 5:7, WEB
We also know that God has given all judgment to Jesus.
For as the Father has life in himself, even so he gave to the Son also to have life in himself. He also gave him authority to execute judgment, because he is a son of man. John 5:26,27 WEB
And the only way to Jesus and therefore to God is Jesus himself.
Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6, WEB
We must therefore believe in Jesus Christ and call upon the name of Jesus which we do every time we pray at the end of each prayer.
But what does it say? The word is near you, in your mouth, and in your heart; that is, the word of faith, which we preach: that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation. For the Scripture says, Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed. Romans 10:8 WEB
A brief word on relationships in the Bible.
An evil man is trapped by his sinful talk, but a righteous man escapes trouble. With his mouth the godless man destroys his neighbor, but through knowledge, the righteous will be delivered. Proverbs 12:13, WEB
Remember the emphasis the Bible places on the words we speak. Speaking evil is attacking the very image of God which is what makes us human.
When being caught up in situations like these, we must examine our lives to ensure we are obeying God in everything we do. If we are walking in disobedience, we will be subject to God's curses, which can manifest in various ways, including legal troubles. How did we get into this situation is our first question. Is this man your boyfriend? Or is he your intended husband? Or are you waiting on God to reveal His will about His marriage for this man and you. Was becoming a boyfriend and girlfriend an intentional act with a clear understanding of the godly goal of marriage? Being married to each other should be the only intended outcome.
Let's begin by praying for this man, for repentance, forgiveness, and a renewed commitment to following Christ. It is also critical to pray for wisdom and discernment for yourself, to see if this situation is a reflection of larger issues in his life that may be harmful or a stumbling block in your pursuit of the Lord.
Lord, we lift up this man who is currently in jail. We pray, Lord, that you would bring conviction to his heart, that he would repent of any sinful behavior in his life and turn to you with all his heart. We ask for your forgiveness and mercy upon him. In situations where sin is involved we ask for forgiveness and that the sin or what ever it was be renounced and done no more. Help us look towards Your light and Word for guidance. Help us flee sin, live a righteous life, so that we may be right with Him. We also bring Veedel112 before you, asking for your strength and comfort in this difficult time. Help her to remain steadfast in her faith, trusting in you even in the face of these trials. Give her wisdom and discernment as she considers your will for her life and navigates this challenging relationship in your Word. May she seek you first and foremost, continually searching for Your will in her life. Guide her to seek You concerning the future of the relationship. May she seek you adn Your will, fleeing all sin. We also pray for your deliverance from the legal trouble. Looking down and mercifully assist them both in this.
We pray for peace for both families as they must be heart broken. In view of deliverance, Job serves as a wonderful example in the Bible. We pray for complete deliverance as we see happen in Job 42:10.
We also ask that when he returns to have any further trouble be prayed against. Proverbs 19:23 is an example of this.
Forgiveness is also necessary when asking anything of the Lord. If we are guilty of sin, we must repent, renounce and do no more. We must also forgive others as we see in Mark 11:25.
We must remember that James 5:16 states that we must confess our sins and pray for each other to be healed.
We encourage you both to read and follow the entire sixth chapter of Ezra in the Bible.
