We are glad to join you in prayer as you travel and meet with this young woman, potentially to court her for marriage. It's important to seek God's will in this situation, and we commend you for that. Remember, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. You shall call on me, and you shall go and pray to me, and I will listen to you." Jeremiah 29:11-12 (WEB)
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up our brother who is traveling today to meet a young woman with whom he's considering marriage. We pray for Your will to be done in this situation, and for Your guidance and wisdom to be upon him throughout this journey, for a marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman and a reflection of the union between Christ and the church. Ephesians 5:22-33.
Protect him as he travels, and let Your Holy Spirit lead and guide his steps. Make it clear if this is the woman You have intended for him, as you promised to give your children wisdom when they ask for it. Let this meeting be carried out in purity, honesty, and integrity, with both parties treating each other with the utmost respect as fellow believers and children of God. We know that it is not good for man to be alone, and that marriage is an honorable estate not to be taken lightly. Genesis 2:18, Hebrews 13:4.
Lord, we also pray that this meeting will bring clarity to both of their intentions. If they are to marry, let them find favor in each other's eyes and let it be a union that will bring honor to your name.
We ask this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, who took our sins and gave us new life. It is in His name that we have access to you, oh God, and it is by His finished work on the cross that we are saved. For the Bible tells us there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we can be saved. Acts 4:12.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
May God's peace and guidance be with you, and may His will be done in your life and this relationship.
