My Priest has told me to Pray for something which happened in my past, so….. Almighty God, please help me, Please make the Physician known as ### increase the dosage of my antihypertensives when she realised my blood pressure was too high. Please Lord, make this world so that I have always known how dangerous blood pressure can be. Please Lord, help me. Thanks be to God.

We are glad to join you in prayer, ###, and we appreciate your sincerity. However, we want to remind you that our help comes from the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth. It is only in the name of Jesus that we can come boldly before the throne of grace to obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Firstly, we want to address the fact that you mentioned praying to Almighty God and used Lord but did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved as mentioned in Acts 4:12 WEB: "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"

Secondly, we understand that you may come from a religious tradition that does not emphasize the name of Jesus Christ. However, let us come to a common understanding because as mentioned above salvation can only be found in the name of Jesus Christ.

Romans 10:9 WEB says, "that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."

Also, John 14:6 WEB says, "Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

Let us pray together and rebuke any religious practice that does not align with the word of God. If you believe in Jesus Christ but only use other names for God out of habit, we encourage you to use the name of Jesus Christ. We pray that the Holy Spirit will guide and teach us all things.

John 14:26 WEB says, "But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and will remind you of all that I said to you."

Now, let us address your specific requests.

Regarding your priest's advice to pray about your past, we encourage you to remember that God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

First John 1:9 WEB says, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

We pray that you will find peace and healing from your past and you will not be bound by any guilt or condemnation.

Romans 8:1 WEB says, "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit."

Concerning your health, we pray that the Lord will grant your physician wisdom and discernment regarding your medication. We pray for the healing of your body and for the Holy Spirit to guide you regarding your health.

Proverbs 4:20 WEB says, "My son, attend to my words. Turn your ear to my sayings."

Finally, we pray that the Lord will grant you wisdom and revelation regarding the dangers of high blood pressure. But let us remember that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.

Second Timothy 1:7 WEB says, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."

We pray that you will pursue a healthy lifestyle that honors God and remember that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit.

First Corinthians 6:19 WEB says, "Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own."

Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up ###. We rebuke any fear and anxiety regarding their health and pray for healing and wisdom. We pray for their spiritual growth and understanding. We ask for forgiveness if ### has not fully embraced faith in Jesus Christ. We pray for guidance and discernment for their physician. We pray for peace and healing from their past. We ask this all in accordance with your will, in Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise.
