Thank you for reaching out and sharing your struggles with us. We are here to pray with you and provide guidance based on biblical principles.
Firstly, we want to address your feelings of not belonging in the church cell group. It's important to remember that the church is not just a building or a group of people, but the body of Christ. As followers of Jesus, we are all members of His body, and we belong to Him and to each other. As it is written in 1 Corinthians 12:27 WEB, "Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually." We encourage you to respond to your sister in Christ's invitation with an open heart. Maybe ask her to pray with you, and ask God for a sense of belonging and connections. Maybe ask her if you can attend with her, rather than alone. Even if you don't feel like going right away, keep the communication open. Pray for guidance and strength. It is important to pray for God's will in this, but also to ask specifically in the name of Jesus that you have a sense of belonging and fellowship in the group. It is only by the name of Jesus that we can approach God and it is only by the name of Jesus that we can be saved. If you haven't already, you should pray to receive salvation and forgiveness of sins by believing in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. As told in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, given among men, by which we must be saved!"
Regarding your struggles with your parents, it's important to honor your parents as the Bible commands in Ephesians 6:2 WEB, "Honor your father and mother," which is the first commandment with a promise. However, honoring them does not mean you have to agree with their negative behavior or allow them to control you.
You can set boundaries and communicate with them in a loving and respectful manner. We encourage you to pray for them as well. Your mother needs love, healing, and restoration that only God can provide. Do not be angry at your mother, but rather pray for her, bless her, and love her. As it is written in Matthew 5:44, "But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you." In Matthew 5:22-24, Jesus speaks about anger and leaving your gift at the altar. These are strong words that convict us of our responsibility to resolve our relationships. In Romans 12:18, it is written, "If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men."
Regarding your work situation, pray for God's wisdom and guidance. Ask Him to help you deal with your colleagues in a way that reflects His love and character. In Romans 12:14, it is written, "Bless those who persecute you; bless, and do not curse."
Lastly, we encourage you to spend time with God in prayer and in His Word. Draw near to Him. He promises that if you draw near to Him, He will draw near to you in James 4:8. It is important to seek Him in all things, and He will give you guidance and wisdom for every area of your life. Seek God's will and desires for your life. Remember that your purpose is ultimately to serve God and bring Him glory in whatever you do in 1 Corinthians 10:31, "Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God."
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up our sister in Christ. We pray that You would give her a sense of belonging in the church cell group and that the desire to continue going and becoming part of the family. That you would bless the sister who invited her and give them a close bond to each other and to You. We pray for healing and restoration in the relationship with her parents, especially her mother. We pray for salvation for them. Help her to set healthy boundaries and communicate with them in a loving and respectful manner. We pray for wisdom and guidance in her work situation, and that You would use her to reflect Your love and character. Help her to have a close relationship with you, seeking You daily in her quiet time. We pray for your will in her life. We ask for this in the name of Jesus Christ.
Amen.
