We understand that you're going through a challenging time with your wife and feeling wearied about attending church. Firstly, it's crucial to remember that our strength and guidance come from the Lord and the fellowship of believers. As it is written in Hebrews 10:25 WEB, "not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching."
In times of relational strain, it's even more important to stay connected with the body of Christ. Additionally, it's commendable that you've been patient in communicating with your wife. The Bible tells us in Colossians 3:13 WEB, "Forbearing one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do." Remember, marriage is a sacred bond, and maintaining it requires continual effort, forgiveness, and love.
Regarding your pastor's role, the Bible advises in Ephesians 5:22-26 WEB, "Wives obey your husbands in all things, and you husbands love your wives even as Christ also loved the church and gave himself up for it. Be subject to one and another in the fear of Christ. If you truly seek God's will together, He will guide you. Also, consider Ephesians 5:28-30 WEB, "So husbands ought also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself. For no man ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord also does the church. Let each one of you do this in love.""
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up our Brother in Christ. Father, strengthen him to avoid forsaking the gathering of the Brethren. Work in his marriage, Lord, and guide them both. Help Brother Rutley to have the power to endure. May he make the quality decision to love, nourish and cherish his wife. Help them to be totally committed to Jesus. Help them to be kind and compassionate to each other as well as forgiving each other and holding each other accountable to each other.as Christ does with the Church. We know we are all to obey God rather than man, but we must be in one accord in this matter. We know that this is only possible by the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. May your relationship be one that is a wonderful Christian testimony to the world.
In The Precious Name of Jesus, Amen
We encourage you, Brother Rutley, to open up to your pastor about your struggles. Confess your faults and ask for his help. Allow your pastor to counsel you and your wife. Let him have the opportunity to help guide you in the word of God. God Bless.
