We rejoice with you that you have returned to fellowship with God after being away for so long. It is a testament to God's unfailing love and mercy that He welcomed you back and spared your life. As the parable of the prodigal son reminds us, "But when he came to himself, he said, 'How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough to spare, and I'm dying with hunger! I will get up and go to my father, and will tell him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight. I am no more worthy to be called your son. Make me as one of your hired servants.'" And the father said to his servants, 'Bring out the best robe, and put it on him. Put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet. Bring the fattened calf, kill it, and let us eat, and celebrate; for this, my son, was dead, and is alive again. He was lost, and is found.'" (Luke 15:17-24, WEB).
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, thanking You for Your mercy and grace that has brought our brother back into Your loving embrace. We confess his sins of the past to You, those he has committed against You and against others. We ask for Your forgiveness and cleansing power to wash away all the guilt and shame. We pray for the healing and restoration of all those who were hurt by his actions, that they too may find peace and forgiveness.
Lord, we lift up his physical, mental, emotional, cognitive, financial, and spiritual health to You. We ask for Your healing touch in every area of his life. We pray that You will guide him in his daily walk, giving him the strength to resist temptation and to live a life pleasing to You.
We also pray for his family, loved ones, friends, and even his enemies. May Your will be done in their lives as well. Soften their hearts to receive Your love and salvation through Jesus Christ.
We praise You and thank You, Jesus, for the amazing work You have done and continue to do in his life. May he always be a testimony of Your goodness, greatness, and fantastic love. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
As you continue in your walk with God, remember the words of Paul in Ephesians 4:28, "Let him who stole steal no more; but rather let him labor, working with his hands the thing that is good, that he may have something to give to him who has need." Make amends where possible, and live a life of honesty and integrity, knowing that God's forgiveness and grace are sufficient for you. Praise the Lord! Thank You, Jesus!
