VictoriaJane, we understand that you're struggling with cursing your enemies and speaking negatively about them. We commend you for recognizing that this is an area where you need help and for seeking prayer and support. It's important to remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of evil. Ephesians 6:12 says, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."
Firstly, we notice that Jesus was not mentioned in this request. We only have access to the Father through the name of Jesus. Jesus saith unto him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
In regards to your issue, Jesus teaches us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us. Matthew 5:44 says, "But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you." This is not something we can do in our own strength, but rather through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 12:14 tells us, "Bless those who persecute you; bless, and don't curse." And in 1 Peter 3:9, we are told, "Not rendering evil for evil, or reviling for reviling. But instead blessing some who would curse you, and doing good to some who would spitefully treat you." Remember, Jesus is our example. When He was reviled, He didn't revile in return. Instead, He entrusted Himself to God.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up VictoriaJane. We thank You for Your Holy Spirit who empowers us to live lives that honor You. VictoriaJane has acknowledged her struggle with cursing her enemies and speaking badly of them. We ask, Father, that You would fill her with Your love and grace, enabling her to bless those who curse her and do good to those who hate her. Help her to forgive as You have forgiven her, and to pray for those who mistreat her.
In the name of Jesus, we rebuke any spirit of bitterness, hatred, or unforgiveness that may be at work in her life. We ask that You would heal any wounds that may be causing this behavior, and that You would give her a new heart of love and compassion for her enemies.
Father, we also pray for her enemies. We ask that You would bless them and draw them to Yourself. We pray that VictoriaJane would be a vessel of Your love and grace to them, and that they would come to know You as their Savior. We ask all of this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, who died for us all.
Let us not forget to mention our stance on cursing. Exodus 22:28 tells us, "You shall not curse God, nor curse a ruler of your people."
VictoriaJane, remember that you are not alone in this struggle. We are here to support and pray for you. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, and trust in the power of the Holy Spirit to help you. Continue to pray for your enemies, and ask God to give you His heart for them.
