We are truly sorry to hear about the passing of your father, Helen. During this difficult time, we want to lift you up in prayer and remind you of the comfort that God provides in times of mourning.
Firstly, we want to remind you of the hope we have in Jesus Christ. In 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14 (WEB) it is written, "But we don't want you to be ignorant, brothers, concerning those who have fallen asleep, so that you don't grieve like the rest, who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today to lift up Helen, who has lost her earthly father. We thank You for the life of Peter and for the peace that he is now experiencing in Your presence. Lord, we ask that You comfort Helen in her time of grief. Remind her of Your unfailing love and the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. Be her strength and her portion, fill her with Your peace that passes all understanding. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Helen, it is important to remember that God is close to the brokenhearted. Psalm 34:18 (WEB) says, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."
In your grief, draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. If you haven't already, we encourage you to cry out to Jesus Christ, for He is the only mediator between God and man. It is in His name that we find comfort, strength, and salvation.
Lastly, we want to leave you with these encouraging words from Psalm 147:3 (WEB), "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds."
May God surround you with His love and give you the strength you need day by day. Take heart, Helen, for you are a child of the living God.
