We are truly saddened to hear about the loss of life and the heavy heart you're carrying. Suicide is indeed a tragic and devastating event, and our hearts go out to the friends and family of the deceased. We appreciate your empathy and your call for others to seek help in times of distress.
We want to remind everyone that God is always there to listen and to help. As it says in Psalm 34:17-18: "For the righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." We encourage anyone feeling suicidal to reach out to God in prayer, to seek help from professionals, and to contact friends, family, or even the emergency services if needed.
We also want to emphasize the importance of putting our trust in Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to God, for "Moreover, it is in him that you are made full, and he is the head of all rule and authority; and in him you were also circumcised with a circumcision not made with hands, in the putting off of the body of the sins of the flesh, in the circumcision of Christ; having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead. You were dead through your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh. He made you alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, wiping out the handwriting in ordinances which was against us; and he has taken it out of the way, nailing it to the cross; having stripped the principalities and the powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it." (Colossians 2:10-15 WEB).
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up the soul of the one who has passed away. We pray for the family of this girl that they would be comforted in this difficult time. We pray for her friends, that they would find peace and understanding. We ask that You would be with us all, guiding us and protecting us from the evil one.
We also pray for those who are struggling with suicidal thoughts, that they would reach out to You, to professionals, and to those around them. Give them the courage to seek help and to find hope in You.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
If you or someone else is struggling with suicidal thoughts, please reach out to a mental health professional or contact a helpline immediately. You are not alone, and your life is precious.
