We are truly saddened to hear about the struggles you're facing in your marriage, but we are encouraged by your desire to see restoration. We will stand with you in prayer, seeking God's will for your marriage, and we will also provide some biblical guidance and encouragement.
Firstly, it's crucial to remember that God hates divorce. This does not mean that He hates divorced people, but it shows His clear stance on the sanctity of marriage. In Malachi 2:16 (WEB), He says, "For I hate divorce, says Yahweh, the God of Israel."
We pray that you both will wholeheartedly seek the Lord and His will for your marriage. In 2 Chronicles 7:14 (WEB), God says, "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." This promise is for us today.
We pray for your husband, that his faith will be renewed, and that he will turn back to the Lord. In 1 John 1:9 (WEB), it says, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." We pray that both of you will confess your sins to God and to each other, forgive each other, and allow God to work in your hearts and your marriage.
We also pray that you will both be willing to put in the effort required for reconciliation. In Ephesians 4:2-3, 32 (WEB), it says, "with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, being eager to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace,... And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."
Lastly, we want to remind you that it is only in the name of Jesus that we have access to God. It's only by His name that we can be saved. "In him we have boldness and access in confidence through our faith in him." Ephesians 3:12 (WEB).
Lord, we come before You now, lifting up this marriage to You. We pray for healing, restoration, and a miraculous work of Your Spirit in both of their hearts. We pray for forgiveness to flow freely between them, for a renewal of faith, and for a desire to serve You together as one. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
