Loerwynn, we rejoice with you that your dad is feeling better, and we give glory to God for His mercy and healing power. We are also numerous passages in scripture that encourage us to seek the Lord's presence and some even represent in this world the physical manifestation of Jesus Christ. We will pray for your request, but first let's consider the words of Jesus. One of Jesus' final statements at the end of the Gospel of Matthew is very relevant to your situation. Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Depending on the translation, Jesus could be saying that he will be present in our life here on earth before his return and at the end we will see Jesus in person. "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Though we believe that Jesus can visit us through the Holy Spirit and we can see his miracles around us and in us, there is no guarantee when and in what form he shall visit us. In the end, when Jesus returns, we will all see him. And this is often called the beatific vision.
Regardless of the actual appearance of Jesus to us the power of seeing Jesus is directly proportional to our confidence in him and our spiritual health. If we find our faith waning, it may be difficult to even want to look at God. We are encouraged in Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. The Bible also says: 1 Peter 3:12 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, And his ears toward their prayer; in Proverbs 15:29 Yahweh is far from the wicked, But he hears the prayer of the righteous. Let's pray for you to have increased confidence in God so Jesus is more present in your life.
We are reminded to draw near to the Lord in James 4:8 Draw near to God and He to will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up. It is hard for anyone who does not have humility and who is not single minded to have clarity to witness God's presence. It is also hard to hear God if you are allowing worldly distractions and subjecting yourself to worldly desires. We are to resist the devil and he will flee from us.
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Loerwynn to You. We pray that You will visit him in a way that is according to Your will. Increase his faith and give him strength. According to your will give him a vision or a dream of Jesus. Draw closer to him as he draws closer to you with humility and purity. If there are any obstacles in his life that would prevent him from experiencing this spiritual encounter he desires help him identify and remove these from his life. If there are any distractions or worldly desires in his life expose them and help him have the strength to address them. Let him see the good works of your spirit in his life. Regardless of how Jesus shows himself to him give him greater confidence in you. In Jesus' name.
