Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up the soul of ###'s friend who tragically took his own life in ###. Lord, we ask for Your mercy and grace upon his soul, even though he may not have known You. We remember the thief on the cross who cried out to Jesus in his final moments and was promised paradise. We pray that in Your infinite mercy, You would remember this young man.
Lord, we also lift up his grieving sister. Comfort her in her sorrow, as You are the God of all comfort. Surround her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding and give her strength to endure this difficult time.
We pray for the young woman involved, that justice would be served and that she would be arrested. More importantly, we ask that You would touch her heart and lead her to repentance. Transform her life, Lord, and bring her to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
