We are truly saddened to hear about the trials that DNL and his family are facing, but we are thankful that you have brought this to our attention so that we may lift them up in prayer together.
Firstly, we want to remind DNL and his family of the comforting words found in Psalm 34:18 (WEB), "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." Even in the depths of depression and loneliness, God is near, and He cares deeply for DNL and his family.
Let us pray:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up DNL and his family. Lord, You know the pain and loneliness that DNL is feeling, and how it affects his wife and children. We ask that You comfort him, remind him of Your constant presence, and give him the strength to endure this difficult time. We pray that You would soften the hearts of his colleagues, that they may show him kindness and warmth. Lord, we also pray for DNL's wife and children, that You would fill them with Your peace and joy even in this trial. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
We also want to encourage DNL to seek godly community, perhaps a local church or Christian group in his new town. As the Bible tells us in Hebrews 10:24-25 (WEB), "Let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching." This can provide him with the support and fellowship he needs to overcome this loneliness.
Lastly, we want to remind DNL that God has promised to never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). Even in this new town, God is with him, and He will see him through this difficult time. Keep trusting in the Lord, DNL, and remember that it is only in Jesus Christ that we find true hope and peace. If there's any doubt or need for reassurance, always remember what Jesus said in John 14:6 (WEB), "Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."
