We are lifting up Bill before the throne of grace, asking for the Lord's healing and mercy upon him. We are reminded of the words of Jesus in John 14:13-14 WEB: "Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it."
Firstly, we must ensure that Bill and those praying for him are believers in Jesus Christ. It is only by His name that we have access to God the Father and it is only by believing in Jesus that we are saved. If Bill or those requesting prayer do not have a saving relationship with Jesus, then we pray that they would come to know Him. Jesus said, "I said therefore to you, that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am he, you will die in your sins." (John 8:24, WEB). We pray that if anyone involved does not know Jesus, man's only savior, that they would believe in Him today and be saved.
Now let us pray specifically for Bill's healing. Lord Jesus, You went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with You (Acts 10:38, WEB). You are the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8, WEB), and You continue to heal and work miracles today. We ask You to touch Bill's body, heal his wounds, and strengthen his bones. Help him to recovery swiftly and completely.
We also pray for Bill's faith to be strengthened during this time. Lord, help him to trust in You and to know that You are with him always, even in this trial (Matthew 28:20, WEB). Give him the peace that passes all understanding (Philippians 4:7, WEB), and help him to know that You have a purpose and a plan in allowing this to happen to him (Romans 8:28, WEB).
Lastly, we pray for those who are caring for Bill, that they would have wisdom and compassion in their care. Lord, guide the doctors and nurses, and give them the knowledge and understanding they need to provide the best possible care for Bill.
We lift up these prayers before Your throne of grace, Lord Jesus, knowing that it is only by Your name that we can come to the Father, and asking that Your will be done in Bill's life and in the lives of those who love him.
