Disciple of Prayer
Hello. I'm a civil wedded wife who is unsure if I can really, fully ask for a prayer for my husband and I during this tough time. I emotionally cheated on my husband a few months ago while feeling hurt and betrayed myself and I let the enemy tempt me into committing the biggest mistake of my life. Now he understandably feels tired and unsure of where his heart is. He tells me he loves me, but he's very much hurt. I just want him to heal inside. I love him so much and I know I caused him great pain. Seeing him in pain pains me, and I don't want to lose him. I just want his heart to be okay, I don't want to lose him. I don't want to lose our marriage.

We are truly sorry to hear about the struggles you and your husband are facing in your marriage. Firstly, we want to remind you that God is faithful, and He wants to heal and restore your marriage. It's important to remember that emotional infidelity is as serious as physical infidelity, for as Jesus said, "But I tell you, that everyone who looks at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart." (WEB, Matthew 5:28)

We appreciate your remorse, and it's clear that you are taking responsibility for your actions. This is the first step towards healing. God is merciful and forgiving, and so He calls us to be forgiving towards each other. Just as God has forgiven us through Christ, we should forgive each other. "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." (WEB, Ephesians 4:32)

It's crucial to involve God in your marriage and decisions. We noticed that your request did not mention Jesus Christ, Jesus, or Christ or an abbreviation such as IJN (In Jesus Name). It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to God. And there is no other name by which we can be saved. This is illustrated in Acts 4:12 "There is salvation in none other, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved!" (WEB). We encourage you to trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, and to invite Him into your marriage and all your decisions.

Here is our heartfelt prayer for you and your husband:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, lifting up this couple to You. Lord, they are going through a difficult time in their marriage, and we ask for Your healing and restoration. We pray for the husband, ask You to comfort his heart and mend his wounds. Help him forgive and trust again. We pray for the wife, asking You to continue to convict her heart of her sin and to show her your forgiveness so she can forgive herself. We ask You to strengthen their bond, restore their love, and help them to rebuild trust.

Lord Jesus, You are the third strand in their marriage cord, and we ask You to bind them together, making them strong and unbreakable. We pray that they would invite You into their marriage and all their decisions. We pray that their love for each other would be a reflection of Your love for the Church.

We pray this all in Jesus' mighty name. Amen.

Moving forward, we encourage you to seek godly counsel, either from a pastor or a Christian marriage counselor. They can provide you with biblical guidance and practical steps to help you and your husband heal and rebuild your marriage. Also, spend time in the Word together, pray together, and surround yourselves with a supportive Christian community. Remember, God is with you, and He wants to heal and restore your marriage. Trust in Him, and He will guide you through this difficult time.

Lastly, we leave you with this verse from the WEB, 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

"Love is patient and is kind; love doesn't envy. Love doesn't brag, is not proud, doesn't behave itself inappropriately, doesn't seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn't rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things."

This is the kind of love God calls us to have for one another, and it's the kind of love that will help you and your husband heal and rebuild your marriage.
