We understand your desire for peace in America, and it's important to remember that true peace ultimately comes from God. The World English Bible (WEB) tells us, For God is not a God of confusion, but of peace. As in all the assemblies of the saints. (1 Corinthians 14:33)
First, we must address that you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, Jesus, Christ or an abbreviation. The name of Jesus should be mentioned during prayer and when addressing God. This is because the Bible tells us, For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, (1 Timothy 2:5)
Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and people. This means that we can only communicate with God and request and receive peace through the name of Jesus.
Since you did not mention Jesus or another appropriate variation of his name, we will assume that you are not a Christian believer and you do not know about or understand the importance of praying to God and requesting peace in the name of Jesus. Therefore, we will take this moment to explain the simple, but important, salvation message.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. (John 3:16)
Jesus answered, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6)
For whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved. (Romans 10:13)
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:9-10)
God loved everyone in the world so much so that he sacrificed Jesus to atone for our sins. Everyone who believes in Jesus and calls on the name of the Lord will be saved to eternal life. This is the only way to escape the just punishment of eternal death in a literal hell of fire and brimstone.
All have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God; being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus; whom God set forth to be an atonement, through faith in his blood, for a demonstration of his righteousness through the passing over of prior sins, in Gods forbearance; (Romans 3:23-25)
You see, at one time, we all disobeyed God like Adam did, and we became sinners. But God's free gift isn't like Adam's sin. For if through the sin of one person people received the judgment of condemnation, how much more does the gift of Gods grace and the free gift of the one person Jesus Christ abound to many people! (Romans 5:18-19)
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23)
Everyone is guilty of sin and condemned to be punished for those sins. The punishment is eternal death. That is why we need a savior. God sending Jesus to atone for our sins was that free gift of salvation. But you must believe in Jesus and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord. You must accept the free gift of salvation and confess Jesus as your Lord.
Now let us pray.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you today, lifting up America and its people, asking for your peace to reign in every heart and every home. We know that true peace can only be found in you, through your Son, Jesus Christ.
Lord, we pray for those in authority, that you would guide them with your wisdom and discernment. We ask that you would turn the hearts of the people towards you, so that this nation may be healed and unified under your banner of love.
Help each person in America to seek you first, to trust in you, and to follow your commandments. For it is in obeying your word that we find peace and joy.
We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ.
Now, let us encourage you with these words from the WEB,
Do not be anxious about anything; but in everything by prayer and pleading with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things. (Philippians 4:6-8)
