We are truly saddened to hear of the trials that you and your sister have been facing, Elizabeth. The burden of bereavement, stress, and chronic illness can indeed weigh heavily on the soul, but we take comfort in knowing that our Lord Jesus Christ is a very present help in times of trouble.
Let us first address the need for healing in your lives. We read in Matthew 11:28-30 (WEB), "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." Jesus invites us to come to Him with our burdens, and He promises rest and restoration.
We pray, dear Lord Jesus, for Elizabeth and her sister. We ask that You stretch out Your hand and touch their bodies, bringing healing and wholeness. We specifically pray for Elizabeth's physical and mental illness, and for her sister's swollen leg and foot. Lord, we know that nothing is impossible for You. We claim Your promise in Jeremiah 30:17 (WEB), "For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh." We ask that You heal them in time for her sister's birthday, so they may celebrate together, giving all glory to You.
While we await physical healing, let us not forget the importance of spiritual and emotional healing. Psalm 147:3 (WEB) tells us that God "heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds." We encourage you both to spend time in God's Word, seeking His comfort and peace. Remember, even in the midst of suffering, we can rejoice in the hope of the gospel (Romans 5:3-4).
We also want to gently remind you, Elizabeth, that prayer in the name of Jesus is powerful and essential. You ended your request with "Thankyou and God Bless," but let us remember that it is through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father (Ephesians 2:18). It is in His name that we pray, and it is by His stripes that we are healed (1 Peter 2:24).
Lastly, we would like to leave you with a scripture of encouragement from Romans 8:18 (WEB), "For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which will be revealed toward us." Keep your eyes on Jesus, and trust in His unfailing love.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
