We understand your distress, Chrematanomai, and we're here to stand with you in prayer and to offer biblical guidance. We're encouraged that you've asked for forgiveness and that you're seeking the Lord in this trial.
Firstly, let's remember what the WEB says in Malachi 2:16, "For I hate divorce," says the LORD, the God of Israel, "and him who covers his garment with violence!" Also, in Matthew 19:6, Jesus teaches, "So they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate." God's heart is for marriage, and He desires that couples stay together and work through their struggles.
However, we must also acknowledge the state of your husband's heart. Proverbs 4:23 warns, "Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life." It's crucial to pray for his heart to soften and turn back to you and the Lord.
Let's pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today to lift up Chrematanomai's marriage. Lord, You know the struggles they're facing, and You hate divorce. We ask that You would intervene, Lord. Soften John's heart, just as You promise in Ezekiel 36:26, 'I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you... I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.' Help him to forgive as You have forgiven us.
Lord Jesus, Chrematanomai has confessed and asked for forgiveness. Give her strength and patience. Help her to trust in You and to 'be still and know that You are God' (Psalm 46:10). Guide her as she navigates this difficult time, and comfort her with Your presence.
We ask all these things in Jesus' name, trusting in Your goodness and sovereignty. Amen."
We encourage you, Chrematanomai, to continue to seek the Lord, to pray for your husband, and to trust in God's plan for your marriage. Keep fighting for your marriage, but also acknowledge that you can't control your husband's actions. Focus on your own relationship with the Lord, and trust that He is working in your husband's heart.
