Luke 6
Love for Enemies
27 “But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, 28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. 29 If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also. If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them. 30 Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. 31 Do to others as you would have them do to you.

37 “Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. 38 Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”

Romans 12
17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. 18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. 19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,”[Deut. 32:35] says the Lord. 20 On the contrary:
“If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.
In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”[Prov. 25:21,22]
21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Firstly, we praise God for the guidance found in His Word. In Luke 6:27-31, Jesus teaches us, “Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also. If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them. Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. Do to others as you would have them do to you.”

###, these verses are a powerful reminder of Christ’s command to love even those who are against us. It is a high calling that can only be fulfilled through the power of the Holy Spirit within us. Jesus also teaches us in Luke 6:37-38, “Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give, and it will be given to you. **Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, asking for the strength and wisdom to love our enemies and to not judge others. Help us to live according to Your Word, to forgive as You have forgiven us, and to always seek peace. Lord, fill ### with Your Holy Spirit, so that they may walk in love and obedience to Your commands. May they be a vessel of Your goodness and mercy, overcoming evil with good. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.**
