Let us remember Timothy and Silas, who were both severely beaten and imprisoned for their faith. They sang praises and hymns to God while shackled and with wounded bodies after a severe beating. They prayed and were released from incarceration but not before their faith and courage were raised to a higher level and their fellow prisoners and jailer, and all the jailer's family were converted. God allowed them to be imprisoned. May we also find God's grace and power in our present situation.
About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone's bonds were loosened.
The jailer, being roused out of sleep and seeing the prison doors open, drew his sword and was about to kill himself, supposing that the prisoners had escaped. But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, "Do not harm yourself, for we are all here!" He called for lights, sprang in, fell down trembling before Paul and Silas, brought them out, and said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?"
They said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household."
They spoke the word of the Lord to him, and to all who were in his house.
He took them the same hour of the night and washed their stripes, and was immediately baptized, he and all his household.
He brought them up into his house, and set food before them, and rejoiced greatly, with all his household, having believed in God. WEB Acts 16:26-
In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray for God's mercy, and we are comforted by your requests for divine mercy and the burdons that God places on us. Go straight to the first purpose, that our lives our to be used as an example and for witnessing for Jesus Christ. The wrongdoing our son has caused can be used as a powerful witness and testament to Jesus Christ's power. We want our actions, words, and everything we do to be a testament to his saving grace and pray it is the same for your Son.
