Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you once again, lifting up our friend's struggles with fear, anxiety, and depression. Lord, we ask for your peace that surpasses all understanding to guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Help them to cast their burdens upon you, knowing that you care for them (1 Peter 5:7). Guide them in seeking professional help if needed and surround them with a supportive community.
Lord, we also pray for guidance on how to live a life without sin and how to control their thoughts and emotions. Your Word reminds us in Philippians 4:8 to focus on whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy. Help our friend to renew their mind daily through the reading and meditation of your Word, and to rely on the power of the Holy Spirit to overcome sinful habits and thought patterns.
We ask for your guidance in finding a good Presbyterian church in Puerto Rico where our friend can worship and grow in their faith. Lead them to a community of believers who will support and encourage them on their spiritual journey.
Lord, we also pray for their academic pursuits as they seek to complete their second bachelor's degree as a generalist nurse and pursue becoming a Nurse Practitioner. Grant them wisdom, strength, and perseverance as they take on a heavy course load. May they excel in their studies and use their skills and knowledge to serve others with compassion and excellence.
In all these things, we trust in your perfect timing and sovereign plan. May our friend find comfort, guidance, and strength in you. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
