We understand that you're going through a difficult time, but we need to address several things in your request. First, you use the word partner and not a godly spouse. It's important to know God's desire for us is to avoid sexual immorality including fornication and adultery. God tells us in First Corinthians 6:18-20 WEB Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's.
Also, in Romans 1:26-27 WEB for this reason, God gave them up to vile passions. For their women changed the natural function into that which is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural function of the woman, burned in their lust toward one another, men doing what is inappropriate with men, and receiving in themselves the due penalty of their error.
Next, God tells us in 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB, Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? We are to be with fellow believers, not unbelievers.
Another concern is the absence of Jesus' name in your prayer request. It is only by His name that we can be saved and come to God the Father. As it says in John 14:6 WEB Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:12 WEB There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!
Let's pray for your relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ first and foremost, and that you both will desire a godly marriage or will have the strength to part ways. Our ultimate goal and strongest desire should be to glorify God in all that we do.
Dear Lord Jesus,
We come to you now, lifting up our brother who is hurting. We pray for guidance and discernment in this relationship. May he have the strength to live for you, and that he desires your will above all else. We pray for peace and comfort for him during this difficult time, and that he understands the significance of marriage. We ask all of this in your precious and holy name, Jesus. Amen.
We encourage you to seek God's will in all things and to trust in Him. Psalm 147:3 WEB He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. Turn to Him in your time of need, and He will comfort you. Remember Psalm 34:17-18 WEB The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.
Please know we are praying for you and for God's will in your life.
