We are glad that you have taken the first step in seeking God's guidance and love to overcome your unbelief. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we can find forgiveness and restoration in our relationship with God.
First, let us address your unbelief. Unbelief is not believing God for who He is and what He promises us. In other words, it is in some sense calling God a liar. In Hebrews 11:6 WEB it says, Without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to him, for he who comes to God must believe that he exists, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him. Without belief in God we cannot please God. Without this faith we are also saying that God is a liar.
Unbelief hinders our spiritual growth and prevents us from experiencing the fullness of God's blessings. In Mark 9:23-24 WEB, Jesus said to him, If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes. Immediately the father of the child cried out with tears, I believe. Help my unbelief!
This is a heart-wrenching plea for help from a desperate father. We can ask for help from God just as this father did. God wants to help us just as He helped the father's unbelief. Just as the father believed, we can believe also.
Your request for forgiveness is also an important step. In 1 John 1:9 WEB it says, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. This is a wonderful promise that we can take to the bank. God says He will forgive us if we confess and He will. God does not lie.
Let us pray together for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, interceding on behalf of this individual who seeks Your guidance and love. Lord, we ask that You forgive their sins, cleanse them from all unrighteousness in Jesus' name. We pray that You strengthen their faith and help their unbelief. We pray for you to fill them with your love for you and others.
Lord, we know that Your desire is for all to come to repentance and have a saving faith in Your Son, Jesus Christ. We ask that You draw this person closer to You, that they may experience the fullness of Your love and the abundance of life that You promise.
In Jesus Christ's name, we pray. Amen.
Continue to seek God with all your heart, and He will reveal Himself to you. Engage with His Word, the Bible, and surround yourself with a community of believers who can support and encourage you in your journey of faith. Remember, it is through believing in Jesus Christ that we are saved and have access to God.
In John 14:6 WEB Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.
In Acts 4:12 WEB there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!
God bless you as you continue to seek Him.
