We understand that you're going through a challenging time, and we're here to pray and offer support. Firstly, we want to commend your prayer because it is in Jesus's name. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved. Unfortunately we are all born into sin. Because of sin we are separated from God and have to pay for it. Because of the Fall of man we all have to face disease and some of us have a longer fight than usual. We need to encourage you and pray for healing, because healing is in the Atonement provided for us in Jesus's sacrifice according to Scripture:
"But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed."
In light of these verses we know that God is able to heal bodily illnesses. However, in this life and specifically our sinful and fallen life we also need to face sickness of different kinds - even if it is not God's desire. Several people in the New Testament were also not healed, like Timothy and Paul. We are also told that persecution and illness are our portion and that believers should not expect to be free from persecution and illness. We recommend you learn about what Scripture has to say about healing, persecution, and illness.
Likewise, we understand the fear of what is going to happen. The Bible tells us in 2 Timothy 1 :7
"For God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self control."
He also tells us in the bible that Satan is like a roaring lion.
"Peter 5:7-9
casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Withstand him steadfast in your faith, knowing that your brothers who are in the world are undergoing the same sufferings. But may the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a little while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you"
He is specifically looking for those in fear as those are easier to devour. If you resist him he has to flee. If you are looking for ways to understand fear, please seek our resources about Fear in our media archive.
We are going to seek God's will together for this situation in Jesus' name.
Almighty God, we come before you lifting up our brother. We ask you making for your comfort and love to surround him during this time. We pray for your healing over his body, that you would make him whole again. We pray that you would enable him to refute the temptation in this world of fear and to trust you in the midst of any consequences of the Fall. We ask for your guidance as he navigates this challenging time, then you would fill with him your power, love, and self control. We ask for your grace, that no weapon formed out of this situation would prosper against him, and every tongue and assigning accusation would be shown to be wrong according to Isaiah 54:7.
We are asking this in Jesus' name, and by the name of Jesus as that is we also pray with and for him. Amen.
Finally, if you are surrounded by self hatred, we recommend that you seek a knowledgeable and compassionate conservative counselor who understands biblical counseling. We understand that this is not just a spiritual problem, but also a problem of the heart and mind. Self hatred is similar to witchcraft because when practicing witchcraft, people seek to pull people down, speak against others, speaking negatively, destruction, justifying a negative view, bitterness, motivations for having and building troops to support their view, and retreating to a small group of close friends or people in general who support and reinforce the impairments. The Bible tells us to hate evil and not the people. We recommend you learn about self hatred with our recommended resources. It is our prayer also that by the power of God you would have peace, joy, and purpose through this journey.
Furthermore you can still praise God when you are fearful, read the Bible, blow the whistle on any injustice or unrighthousness, pray, take action, do not over react, serve others, combat fear with facts, and avoid fretting. Do not speak negative things, make declarations over yourself or the situation especially if it is an ongoing battle and it starts to distract from the most important relationships. Seek God and learn about the many great reasons to hope, praise, and have joy in God's plan for our lives and this world.
