We are here with you in spirit, lifting you up in prayer. We are grateful that you have come with a humble heart, seeking God's mercy and forgiveness. We are reminded of the prodigal son and his response to his wrongdoing. First, know that there is no other name by which we can be saved than the name of Jesus. We come before God the Father in the name of Jesus only. Does this represent believing in Jesus Christ? Since it is in His name we can come before God the Father if we believe.
The Scripture tells us, So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened. Luke 11:9-10 WEB Also, the apostle John, the beloved apostle of Jesus, wrote, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 WEB
We, too, cry out to God for your situation,
Almighty God, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our fellow believer who has come with a repentant heart. You are a God of mercy and forgiveness, and we ask that You pour out Your grace upon them. They have confessed their sins and seek Your forgiveness. We pray that You will grant them peace and guidance as they navigate the consequences of their actions. We ask that You will be by their side every step of the way as they seek to overcome the troubles they are facing. We also pray for their siblings, that You will protect them and provide for them in this situation. Guide them in their decisions.
Father, we ask that You will help them to sleep and eat, that You will restore their strength and give them rest. We pray that You will open up a way for them, that You will make straight their paths. We ask that You will fill them with Your wisdom and discernment, that they may make righteous decisions. We pray that You will help them to be transparent in their actions and accept responsibility for their choices. Help them to let go of pride, selfishness and not live in fear of man. Do not let this sin and the consequences become a curse for their lives, but let this be a time of forgiveness, restoration and freedom.
Help them to be honest with their siblings and anyone else involved as needed to repent of this sin and seek the guidance of Godly counsel. We pray that they will keep their garments spotless in your sight. Let them be mindful that we must be a light and an example to the unbelieving. Then, they will know that we are your disciples because of our love one for another.
We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, who died for our sins and rose again for our justification. It is in His name we pray. Amen.
As you continue to walk with the Lord, remember that He is faithful to forgive and restore. Trust in Him, and He will direct your paths. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author, and perfecter of our faith. He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it. Stand firm in the faith, and do not let your heart be troubled. You think this is too great to be forgiven, but it is not too great for God.
We are reminded that the apostle Paul murdered Christians and persecuted the church. Yet, God saved him and used him to write most of the New Testament. God is still working miracles. If He saved Saul and turned him into Paul. He can work in your situation. We are here if you need to discuss or pray about this more. God be with you until we meet again.
