Disciple of Prayer
I have a pretty big family who all got under the same roof for the first time a couple of years ago and have all been struggling to finally get to know each other. A lot of tragedies caused us to be splattered with our own hardships and tribulations half way across the United States from each other and no way of finding each other until timing was right. We had faith and left our home to slowly make a trip across the us, helping us learn and grow to finally make it home from Arkansas to Arizona, and finally get to see family for the first time. It took about a year because most was without a ride and a major portion saw us walking on old highways and roads to get there pulling our Chihuahua on our little red wagon since we had no way of travelling that would allow her to ride. We made it 3 years ago now and have seen and been through so many ordeals. Some people from the community came to me with life threatening illnesses and i temporarily moved into their lives and they have now passed on. I have never been there and saw anyone to their death, esp rapidly in a couple of months that saw a lot of pain and suffering as side effects of cancer, and some of my family went to the rescue to try to help because they wanted to help me as i did this. I never turn away someone struggling if they ask, and we have seen several people through major Devastation. I pray this year as we come together as a family, that those hearts that are hardened and don't want to believe in you, my Lord Jesus, will come to understand and believe. Please keep us all humble and be with us this christmas and help us really be gathered to celebrate you Lord as we thank you for our lives as well as you in our lives. I am grateful you got me to my family and have helped us in our struggles and others. About a month ago we had a house fire where we all had to come together to save the house and stop the fire. I was burnt on the face, the twin girls and my dad desperately helped but had no shoes on in the moment so they had to nurse blistered feet and still healing. But we got to feel coming together and we did it as a team. I pray to you for all to hear Jesus, for we have been put back together and faced some challenges, and have felt you in our life. We just need a hurt member of our family to once again believe, and be with us all. In the name of Jesus Christ i pray, Amen.

Thank you, ###, for sharing your story and your heartfelt prayer request. We are here to pray with you and provide biblical encouragement.

Firstly, we commend your faith and perseverance in the face of numerous trials. Remember the words of James, "Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing." (James 1:2-4 WEB)

We are glad to hear the phrase 'In the name of Jesus Christ I pray, Amen.' in the closing of the request. It is only through belief in the name of Jesus Christ that we are saved and are able to go to the Father. This shows a belief in the saving faith in Jesus Christ. Consider though how Acts 4:12 tells us: "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" (WEB)

Regarding your family, it is wonderful to see how God has reunited you all. We pray that God continues to strengthen your familial bonds and that He uses each of you to draw one another closer to Him. It is important to discuss how each one of you would benefit from building or renewing a strong individual relationship with Jesus Christ.

We are reminded of the Psalmist's words, "Unless Yahweh builds the house, they who build it labor in vain. Unless Yahweh watches over the city, the watchman guards it in vain." (Psalm 127:1 WEB). Let this be an encouragement and guide your prayers for your family members. Pray for each member of family to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

God wants all to be saved though. It is good to pray for the salvation of your family members. The Lord desires to see all of the family together for eternity but this only comes through individuals placing their faith in Jesus Christ. This is the true unity that God desires.

We are also grateful for the compassion you have shown to others, even in the midst of your own struggles. It truly demonstrates the love of Christ.

As for the trials, hardship, pain, and suffering. They are a result of a fallen world under the curse of sin. Jesus said, "In the world you have oppression; but cheer up! I have overcome the world." In John 16:33 (WEB). Remember that even in the midst of suffering there is victory in Jesus Christ.

Remember that suffering prepares us for glory. As Christians we bear the light of Christ in us and our eyes should be fixed on eternity. New challenges and struggles will be faced but by keeping the focus on Christ, we can get through any challenge. Consider Paul's words in Romans 18: "For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which will be revealed toward us."

Regarding the house fire, we thank God for His protection over you all and ### praise Him for the unity it brought to your family. Continue to trust in Him.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You lifting up ### and their family. We thank You for Your faithfulness in their lives, for reuniting them, and for the love they share. We believe that all people everywhere should believe in Jesus Christ. We pray for their healing, physically and spiritually, and encourage them to keep their eyes on Jesus and on their eternal life. We ask that You soften the hearts of those who do not yet know You, that they may come to saving faith and allegiance to Jesus Christ.

We ask that in this year family would have opportunity to share about Jesus Christ and for each person to build or renew a strong individual relationship with Jesus Christ in their celebration together.

We celebrate that Your name has been seen through their lives by those in the community. This is a beauty of blessing enjoyed even in the trials of life. We ask that You continue to use them to bring glory to Your name and bring good news and the gospel to those around them.

We are reflections of word that went out and does not return void. For we are justified in the name of Jesus Christ and the legacy that Christ's disciples passed on to us. In Jesus' name we pray and for His glory. Amen!

I'm right there with you, Oddrence. It's been a rollercoaster, hasn't it? But we've seen God's faithfulness in the midst of it all. I'm so glad we've been reunited as a family, and I pray that this Christmas, we'll truly come together in a way that honors Jesus. I've been thinking about that verse in Romans 8:28, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." Even the toughest times, God is working them out for our good. And I believe that includes the challenges we're facing now.

I'm also praying for that one family member who's been struggling. I believe that God can soften their heart and draw them back to Him. Let's keep praying, keep loving, and keep trusting in Jesus, no matter what comes our way.
