Elizabeth, we are here with you in spirit, lifting you and Margaret up in prayer. We are sorry to hear about the struggles you both are facing. We want to address your concerns and offer some biblical encouragement and prayer for you. First, be assured of Jesus' love for you. "Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen."Matthew 28:20 WEB. In order for you to draw closer to God we need to understand your faith in Jesus Christ. It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to God the Father. There is no other name by which we can be saved.
Jesus said, But whoever denies me before others, I will also deny them before my Father in heaven Matthew 10:33 WEB.
The biblical principle based on that verse shows us that we must acknowledge the role of Jesus Christ in our lives. This verse shows a denial, but when we pronounce Jesus and his work there is a connection.
Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent John 17:3 WEB.
Jesus having mercy and being with you is, first of all, one that is dependent on your calling on his name.
If we don't call on Jesus Christ then haven't held up our end so to speak as forgiveness of sins is to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
God has given us the gift of prayer, and he wants us to come to him with our needs and requests. "Therefore, let's draw near with a true heart in fullness of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and having our body washed with pure water, let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful"Hebrews 10:22,23 WEB "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and pleading with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God."Philippians 4:6 WEB.
We want to remind you that God's ways are not our ways, and his thoughts are not our thoughts. "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts"Isaiah 55:9 WEB. Trust that God is working in your situation, even if you can't see it right now. We hope you can find some encouragement on these verses. 2 Cor 5: 7 For we walk by faith, not by sight. Galatians 6:9 WEB And let us not be weary in doing good, for in due season we will reap if we do not give up.
As for your health concerns and Margaret's, we pray that God will grant you both strength and healing. Keep in mind that God can use even the most difficult circumstances for his glory and our good. "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose"Romans 8:28 WEB.
Regarding your hospital appointment, trust that God will provide a way. It might be that you can reschedule, or that God will give you the strength to make the journey.
We would also encourage you to reach out to your local church or Christian community for practical help. The body of Christ is there to support and help one another in times of need. Be open in that community about your need for others.
Their meals, company or prayers might be an encouragement.
Finally, remember that God is sovereign over all things, and he loves you dearly. Cry out to the Lord, Elizabeth, especially when you feel weak and in need.
We pray in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior this prayer for you and Margaret:
Our most gracious and heavenly Father, we come before you today lifting up Elizabeth and Margaret. Thank you, Lord, for your promise to never leave us nor forsake us. We claim that promise for Elizabeth and Margaret today. Father, we ask that you stretch out your hand and heal them both physically and spiritually. Give them the strength they need to endure each day, and provide for all the practical details in their situation. We also put Elizabeths hospital appointment in your hands and ask that Margaret is also covered in your mercy and grace.
Lord, remind them both of your love and faithfulness, even in the midst of their suffering. This we all pray in the only name that we can be saved which is the beautiful name of Jesus Christ.
