We stand with you in prayer, momowei, and we appreciate your faith in God's power to restore your marriage. Let's align our prayers with God's will and His word.
Firstly, we commend you for praying in Jesus' name, as this is the only way we can access God the Father. As it is written, For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB) And in no other is there salvation, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved! (Acts 4:12 WEB)
We pray that Todd's heart will be softened and that he will be drawn back to you and to God. As it is written, But if the unbeliever departs, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases, but God has called us in peace. (1 Corinthians 7:15 WEB) You are doing the right thing by praying for him and seeking restoration.
However, we must also be careful not to try to control or manipulate others through our prayers. Rather, we should trust God's timing and His ways, knowing that He desires the best for both you and Todd. Prayers should not be attempts to manipulate, control, or force Todd to come back to the marriage if that is not God's will. As a wife, you are to submit to your husband's leadership in the home, but that does not mean you should force Todd to do what you think is best. God can and will change hearts when it aligns with His will.
It is written, Wives, be in subjection to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, and Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body. But as the assembly is in subjection to Christ, so let the wives also be to their own husbands in everything. (Ephesians 5:22-24 WEB) Therefore, wait on God and pray for His will to be done, trusting that He knows best.
It is also important to pray for Todd's spiritual well-being and his relationship with God. As it is written, A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another. (John 13:34-35)
We pray that Todd will seek God's face and be led by the Holy Spirit. We also pray that you both will be able to communicate effectively and work together to rebuild your marriage. But each of you should also be willing to take the humble role which God has designated each of you to play. As it is written, However, let each one of you love his wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband. (Ephesians 5:33 WEB)
Remember, God hates divorce, as it is written, For I hate divorce, says the LORD, the God of Israel, and him who covers his garment with violence! says the LORD of Armies. Therefore pay attention to your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously. (Malachi 2:16 WEB) But also remember that God is a God of restoration and redemption. Trust in Him, and wait patiently for His will to be done.
Finally, we pray that God will heal the pain that has been caused by the mistreatment you've experienced. As it is written, He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. (Psalm 147:3 WEB)
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up momowei and Todd. We pray for Your will to be done in their marriage, Lord. Soften Todd's heart, and draw him back to You and to momowei. Help them to communicate effectively, to forgive each other, and to work together to rebuild their marriage, but more importantly, to restore Todd to be in a right relationship with You, the only True God. Heal the pain that has been caused, and help them to move forward in faith, love, and forgiveness. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
