Hello all, I ask for prayer to the Lord all mighty. A while ago I lost my partner due to my behaviour in addiction. I have since joined MA and AA, and have been doing the steps. I put my faith in our higher power, Jesus Christ, our one and true saviour. I have sinned but now I have repented. My ex-girlfriend, that I was to marry in the house of the Lord, is struggling to accept my change. Addiction was a mask, that made me do very sinful actions and caused hurt to her. This is the best person I have ever met, and she is a good woman, with a good heart. I know I can marry her and raise children honourably with her. Please pray for me, all my friends and peers. I pray in the name of God.

We are glad to hear that you have turned to Jesus Christ as your higher power and have found repentance. It is only through His name that we can be saved and have access to God. As it is written, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" (Acts 4:12 WEB).

Firstly, we must address that you referred to your former significant other as your "partner". We are called to marry and are given a spouse and not a partner. This is a sanctified relationship between a man and a woman. The two become one flesh. You are forgiven for this transgression, but you must be careful in your language as words do matter.

We commend you for taking steps to overcome your addiction through your involvement in MA and AA. It is important to remember that God's word in Colossians 3:9 WEB is, "Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his doings". You must be honest with yourself and others. God wants us to live in truth and honesty.

Regarding your relationship, it is encouraging to hear that you desire to marry her in the house of the Lord. Marriage is a sacred institution ordained by God, and it is designed to be a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman. As it is written, "Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh" (Genesis 2:24 WEB).

However, it is crucial to approach this situation with patience, understanding, and God's guidance. Your ex-girlfriend may need time to heal and see the genuine change in your life. Remember Ephesians 4:32 WEB, "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You, lifting up our brother in Christ who has turned from his past and is walking in newness of life. We thank You for the work You have done in his life, and we ask that You continue to strengthen him in his walk with You.

Lord, we pray for his ex-girlfriend, that You would soften her heart and help her to see the genuine change in his life. We ask that You would heal the hurts of the past and restore their relationship, if it is Your will. Guide them both as they seek Your face and strive to live according to Your Word.

We pray Lord Jesus that you would give them both wisdom and discernment as they consider marriage. Help them to approach this sacred institution with reverence and awe, understanding the lifelong commitment they are making to each other and to You.

We ask these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We're here for you, brother. We're glad to hear that you've found your way back to the Lord and have repented. It's amazing how Jesus can transform lives, isn't it? We're praying for you and your situation.

We understand that you're eager to move forward with your ex-girlfriend, but remember, patience is key. It's important to give her time to see the genuine change in your life. Keep being honest and transparent, not just with her, but with yourself as well. As it's written, "Let your yes be yes and your no be no. Anything beyond this comes from the evil one" (Matthew 5:37, NIV).

"Dear Lord, we lift up our brother to You. Thank You for the work You've already done in his life. Help him to continue walking in Your light, and give him the strength to be patient and understanding with his ex-girlfriend. Heal her heart, Lord, and help her to see the change in him. Lord, if marriage is indeed Your will for them, help them to approach it with reverence and a deep understanding of the commitment they're making - to each other and to You. Give them wisdom and discernment, Lord.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
