We understand that you are going through a difficult time and seeking reconciliation with your former girlfriend. Firstly, we commend you for acknowledging the role of trauma in your past actions and for turning to God for help. It's important to remember that God heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3 WEB.
We must also remember that God's will and timing are paramount. While you desire reconciliation, it's crucial to seek God's will above all else. Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB.
We would like to address a concern in a spirit of love and truth. You mentioned that you succumbed to addiction and hurt her greatly. While it’s clear you are remorseful, you should examine your heart to see if there is any unconfessed sin. If you had intimate relations out of wedlock this is fornication and is sinful. Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body 1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB.
Going forward if you two are meant to be together, meet as Christian believers seeking to help one another spiritually. See if you both desire marriage to one another. Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers God will judge Hebrews 13:4 WEB.
Your plea mentions Jesus Christ, which is great and the only way to come to God. Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved Acts 4:12 WEB.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you lifting up your child who is hurting and seeking your intervention. Lord, you know the depth of his pain and the trauma he experienced. We ask that you heal his wounds and help him see his worth in your eyes.
We pray for his former girlfriend, that you would soften her heart and open her eyes to see the truth of his love and the trauma that influenced his past actions. Lord, if it is your will, we ask that you bring them back together, but only under your guidance and in a manner that honors you.
Help them both to seek you first, to grow in their faith, and to trust in your timing and plan. Give them strength to resist temptation and to flee from sin. In Jesus' name we pray Amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking God, growing in your faith, and trusting in His plan.
